Pump Tanks
Cooling Tower Pump Tank assemblies offered by AEC are backed by proven engineering and expert fabrication that have made these systems the standard of the industry for decades. Process cooling water is circulated by centrifugal pumps with cast iron housings, cast iron impellers and mechanical seals. Full sized pump suction and discharge valves are expertly assembled on solid decks and include suction isolation valves, throttling valves, discharge check valves, pressure gauges and gauge trim.
These versatile tanks can be modified to meet the specific needs of your facility and application. Chilled Water Pump Tanks also offer variable frequency drive (VFD) options for optimal control and energy usage.
REQUEST A QUOTE Find a rep- A pump tank provides process water storage and circulation within a cooling system. Pumps move the cooling water from the tank to production equipment and return it to the cooling system, helping maintain the water supply required by the process.
- Maintaining appropriate water flow helps deliver cooling water where it is needed throughout the process. Pump sizing, piping, valves, and system pressure should be matched to the requirements of the connected production equipment.
- Variable frequency drives allow pump operation to be adjusted rather than relying solely on fixed-speed operation. For AEC chilled-water pump tanks, VFD options are available to provide additional control and support more efficient energy use.
- Single-well and dual-well designs provide different approaches to managing process water within the tank system. The appropriate configuration depends on the cooling-system design and how water returning from the process needs to be managed before being supplied back to production equipment.
- Pump tank selection should consider required water volume, process flow requirements, cooling load, number of pumps, connected equipment, and the design of the overall cooling system. AEC offers tank systems in multiple capacities and configurations to accommodate different process requirements.
- Processors should consider required flow rate, pressure, motor size, number of process circuits, redundancy needs, and how cooling demand varies across the facility. These factors help determine the appropriate pump configuration for distributing cooling water to production equipment.
