Screw Conveyers

Screw Conveyors

Screw Conveyors are designed to convey flowable, solid materials. These units give you maximum efficiency when moving materials from their source to process. Our Screw Conveyors offer variable speeds to adjust the flow of material to match the speed of other machines and systems. Our extensive line of auger systems feature coreless, solid core and specialty augers. Various sizes and material of construction are available.

  • A screw conveyor is a good option when flowable solid materials need to be moved from a storage or supply point to downstream processing equipment. It provides a controlled mechanical conveying method that can be adapted to different layouts and material handling requirements.
  • Coreless and solid-core augers provide different approaches to mechanically moving material through a conveying tube. The appropriate auger design depends on the material characteristics, required conveying rate, system configuration, and application requirements.
  • Variable-speed operation allows material flow to be adjusted to better match the requirements of downstream machines or processes. This helps coordinate material delivery with the rest of the production system.
  • Materials that resist consistent flow may require a specialized conveying configuration or additional flow assistance. AEC offers configurations for difficult-flowing materials as well as anti-bridging agitation to help support material movement.
  • The incline of a screw conveyor is an important consideration because the material must be moved both horizontally and vertically as the angle increases. Material characteristics, required discharge height, and overall system layout should therefore be considered when determining the conveyor configuration.
  • Screw conveyors can be used with equipment such as silos and bins to transfer material into other parts of the handling or production process. The appropriate configuration depends on the material source, required discharge point, and overall equipment layout.
