GR1 Series Film Grinders
AEC’s GR1 Series film grinders are designed to handle a wide range of materials and can be equipped with feed roll assemblies for automatic feeding of scrap roll stock. GR1 Series film grinders are used to grind film scrap into small particles of fluff that can be combined with pelletized material and fed back into an extruder.
REQUEST A QUOTE Find a rep- Grinding reduces film scrap into smaller particles of fluff that are easier to handle and reintroduce into the material stream. This allows processors to combine recovered film scrap with pelletized material for reuse in extrusion applications.
- Film grinding allows usable production scrap to be reduced into fluff rather than immediately discarded. The GR1 Series Film Grinders are specifically designed so this fluff can be combined with pelletized material and fed back into an extruder.
- Feed roll assemblies can be useful for scrap roll stock that needs to be fed automatically into the grinder. The GR1 Series Film Grinders can be equipped with feed rolls for automatic feeding, with features designed to assist with thick films and reduce wrapping.
- Consistent feeding helps maintain controlled material delivery into the cutting chamber. For roll-stock applications, the optional GR1 feed-roll assembly uses a variable-speed drive and angled feed-roll geometry to support material feeding.
- After film scrap is reduced to fluff, it needs to move to the next stage of the material handling process. The GR1 Series Film Grinders include a frame-mounted fluff blower as standard equipment for this purpose.
- Processors should consider the type and form of film scrap, how material will be fed into the grinder, required grinding capacity, desired fluff handling method, and how the reclaimed material will be reused downstream.
