BFC Series Blown Film Coolers
Today’s competitive blown film business calls for consistent, high-quality product and increased productivity—especially in warmer climates or when ambient air temperatures rise in summer months.
AEC’s BFC Series blown film coolers boost productivity by eliminating production variables. Fully-engineered chilled water coil assemblies deliver air ring cooling at constant temperature, pressure, and volume.
BFC Series blown film coolers have a leaving air temperature range of 40°F to 50°F (5°C to 10°C). Higher leaving air temperature options may be available for additional engineering consultation.

- As ambient air temperature increases, the air supplied for film cooling can also become warmer. Using controlled chilled air helps reduce this environmental variable and provides more consistent cooling conditions during warmer weather or in warmer production environments.
- Controlled cooling provides the air ring with more consistent air temperature, pressure, and volume. Reducing variations in these conditions can help processors maintain more repeatable operating conditions throughout production.
- A blown film cooler can be beneficial when changing ambient temperatures are affecting cooling consistency or creating a production variable. It can be especially useful in warmer climates or facilities that experience significant seasonal temperature changes.
- A chilled-water coil assembly cools the air before it reaches the film air ring. This allows the cooling system to deliver air under more controlled temperature conditions rather than relying solely on ambient plant air.
- Processors should consider the cooling requirements of the film line, desired air temperature, available chilled-water supply, airflow and pressure requirements, ambient operating conditions, and the requirements of the existing air ring and extrusion process.
