ACD Series
ACD Series Compact Compressed Air Dryers
The ACD Compressed Air Dryer offers efficient drying performance in an ultracompact cabinet for 5-15 CFM applications. The dryer cabinet fits easily into the tightest spaces.
For added flexibility, it can be mounted on the floor or directly to a hopper. The dryer is capable of reducing the incoming compressed air source dewpoint by up to 50ºF to as low as –10ºF (-40ºF with the optional membrane dryer).
REQUEST A QUOTE Find a rep- A compressed air dryer can be a good solution for smaller-throughput plastics processing applications where a reliable source of compressed air is already available. It provides localized material drying without requiring a larger desiccant drying system.
- A compressed air dryer uses the plant’s compressed air supply as the source for drying air, while a desiccant wheel dryer uses desiccant technology to continuously produce low-dew-point process air. The appropriate technology depends on the material, required drying conditions, throughput, and available utilities.
- Dew point indicates the moisture content of the drying air. Lower-dew-point air can provide greater moisture-removal capability, making the required dew point an important consideration when matching drying equipment to a resin and application.
- Compact compressed air dryers can be useful for machine-side drying, small production runs, low-throughput applications, and processing cells where available installation space is limited.
- Processors should consider material drying requirements, throughput, required dew point and temperature, available compressed air capacity, hopper size, and installation space when selecting a compressed air drying system.
- Machine-side drying places the drying equipment close to the processing machine, providing a dedicated drying solution for an individual production cell. This can simplify material preparation for lower-throughput or specialized processing applications.
